Pre-Road Trip Excitement!

Elyse flew into Albany from Florida last Thursday night, and we've just been crazy busy since then. This past week I spent up at Camp Chingachgook as a counselor before my adventuring westward. I convinced Elyse to go to Vermont to pick up our little cousin Rachael so that she could come down for the weekend and I could see her before I left. Well, I kind of expanded the truth as to how far UVM was from Latham and how far UVM was back to Chingachgook. NBD, they just got to the cookout a little bit late :) Afterwards, we went into good old Lake George Village for some DELICIOUS Capri's Pizza and Ben & Jerrys, and of course a stop at the arcade next to Capri's (my personal favorite).

Elyse took this one while driving... super safe.

So, Saturday, we spent some time at Shaker Ridge so that Isaac could enjoy the pool and the playground, and in the afternoon we took the boys to Hoffman's Playland in Latham. Always a great ratio of adults to kids- this time 8 adults to the 2 little boys. Us big kids went on some rides too...

Finally, Sunday, we enjoyed a day at the Saratoga Race Track. I walked out 10 dollars poorer and Elyse walked out ten dollars richer than when we went in, but it was still a wonderful day with the family for all, especially Isaac's enthusiasm for cheering on his horses :)

Elyse and I on the paratroopers... not as awesome as we originally thought
